COURSE OVERVIEW
The question often heard from Dentists during cementation procedures is “am I doing it right”?
The truth is, there are so many options available for dentine bonding and cements today, and so many associated “hints and tips” to get the best clinical outcomes, that it can become quite confusing, and some clinicians may even find themselves using the wrong application technique for their product. The result can be poor bond strengths or post-operative sensitivity issues, both of which will ruin the clinical case.
In this, one-day lecture and workshop program, Dr Mandikos will cover the relevant theory of dentine bonding and cementation, to ensure attendees understand how bonding works, how the different cements work, and what each of the different systems available actually does. He will demystify cementation protocols and bust a few “Urban Myths” along the way.
This is a program designed to clarify the steps required to adhesively cement crowns, veneers, inlays and posts.

Course Overview
We have all experienced the situation. Patients will present with heavily worn down teeth, multiple missing teeth or they are simply seeking to improve their smile when their teeth are clearly in the wrong position due to agenesis or aplasia.
You may already be taking on complicated cases, or you may work in a rural region where there is no nearby specialist support, or perhaps you don’t wish to take on such cases, but you want to know more about what is involved and how it is done.
Learning Objectives
In this Workshop you will learn:
Concepts of treatment planning and record gathering, in order to arrive at a diagnosis and ideal treatment plan for the patient.?
How to perform a diagnostic mockup to communicate the case to your patient and to the laboratory.?
Tips and tricks that can make or break these cases.?
There will also be a pre-recorded video to demonstrate the process of an intra-oralmockup,followed by a hands-on exercise based on a real case presentation to allow the participants to learn how to perform a diagnostic mockup to how to properly assess a case and to present it to their patient.?

This unique 4 part program has been designed to assist Final Year Students as well as new and recent graduates. Learn more about the four key techniques and materials that they will need to be proficient in to excel in private practice.
The topics will bridge the gap between what was taught in university and what is common practice in the real workplace. The course will have a mix of lecture content and hands-on.
Direct techniques for minimising sensitivity and obtaining perfect contacts
This course will address the main causes of postoperative sensitivity with posterior composites, and present techniques that can be predictably employed by the clinician to prevent it from occurring. This will include a discussion on cavity design and restorative material placement as well as the role of self-etching dentine bonding systems, glass ionomers and flowable resins.
During hands-on exercises, participants will have the opportunity to practice composite placement in typodont teeth using the materials and techniques discussed.
Achieving excellent aesthetic and functional results when restoring anterior teeth.
Beginning with a lecture covering the relevant physical properties required of composites to be used for restoring anterior teeth, this one-day course explores the concepts of colour as they relate to tooth shade selection. As there are presently so many options on the market, the importance of opacity/translucency as distinct from colour alone will be explained to assist participants in selecting composite systems for use in their practices.
Finally, the multi-layered approach to restoring anterior teeth using varying opacity of composites will be demonstrated together with simplified techniques for build-up, finishing and polishing.
The practical exercises in this course will allow participants to restore typodont teeth utilising a multi-shaded, aesthetic composite system and the layering techniques presented in the lecture.
After the course, attendees should have a greater understanding of the newer composite technologies available to achieve excellent aesthetic and functional results when restoring anterior teeth.
