A SHORT-COURSE ON PORCELAIN VENEERS
DAY 1 | Dr Michael Mandikos | SESSION 1
The key points that make or break porcelain veneer treatment Preparation Design for incisors, premolars and molars
Case Selection - Indications and Contraindications Limitations of Porcelain Veneer Treatments
Selecting appropriate porcelain system for different cases
Composite materials continue to evolve and the Clinician has a great choice when it comes to modern systems. Some composites seem to be better suited to aesthetics, some to function and some claim to have universal applications. It is true that when composites are used correctly, they will provide long-lasting, aesthetic restorations, that will biomechanically reinforce the tooth. They just need to be used correctly.
This program has been designed to teach the relevant composite materials science and clinical techniques, to allow the Clinician to understand how to select and how to use modern composite materials, for simple and predictable outcomes.
If you are not sure which type of composite is best for you, what properties to look for, how to create long-lasting and sensitivity free restorations, that are also predict- ably aesthetic, then this master-class is for you.
One of the biggest restorative challenges for the new graduate is being able to assess when a tooth is best served with an indirect restoration. This course covers the theory in assessing which teeth needs what restoration and when.
In this hands-on program, Dr Mandikos will provide an update on what is new in posterior composites (including the indications and use of bulk placement techniques), Impression Materials, All - Ceramic Restorations, Provisional Materials and types of cement.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. What camera, lens and Mash system is required for dental photography
2. How to compose and take high quality dental photographs
3. Instruments and techniques for intra-oral and extra-oral photography
This course is designed to raise the awareness of the clinician to the possibilities of bridgework as a viable, predictable and long term alternative to dental implants. Conventional, cantilever and bonded designs will be covered, together with many clinical case examples.
A course designed for the new graduate, to pass on the skills , tips and tricks of private practice. The program will involve lectures with many case examples, as well as some live demonstrations, to present various clinical techniques to the attendees.
In this one-day lecture and workshop program, Dr Mandikos will cover the relevant theory of dentine bonding, to ensure attendees understand how bonding works, and what each of the different systems available actually does. He will demystify bonding protocols and bust a few “Urban Myths” along the way.
Then, in a fun and semi-competitive environment, attendees will make their own bond testing specimens with their preferred bond. They will then test their bond strengths in our special bond strength testing machine. It will be Dentist versus Dentist as course attendees go head to head, to see who can achieve the title of Top Bondodontist !
